When the ideas for your social media content seem to be running low, and you have no time, it can feel like there’s nothing left. But wait!

Some simple steps will help give structure (and consistency) where needed without compromising on fresh perspectives or creativity. So, are social media content pillars necessary?

Every company’s social media content pillars are critical! Whether it’s a small business or a big corporation, everyone wants to have a digital presence! The term “social media content pillars” is sometimes referenced for knowledgeable social media content creators.

It’s no secret that content pillars are one of the most challenging aspects of marketing. When you’re trying to get people excited about your brand, it can be challenging when they don’t resonate with what you have posted on social media or why they came here in the first place.

What Are Content Pillars On Social Media?

The idea behind a social media content pillar is to create one overarching piece of information covering all the different topics you might be interested in and then corresponding content on all the sub-topics.

For instance, if your blog focuses on Digital Marketing as the main topic, this would mean posting a “pillar post” about that topic, making it as long-form as possible. You can use the content pillar to distribute across different social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

After creating the content pillar, there will be opportunities to post more articles about everything that falls beneath that topic, as a different article. Some examples of Digital Marketing sub-topics include “Email Marketing” and “Social Media Strategies”. These articles would help lend authority to your main Content Pillar and drive traffic back to that page (especially if you link to it – relevantly).

This way, when people search for “Email marketing” or “Social network” (for example), they will find everything that has to do with that topic, plus any overarching information that can prove to be useful as well – plus they stay engaged with your brand even more so.

What is a Content Pillar?

A content pillar is a topic creation strategy that marketers use to help them develop better articles for the web.

It can be on any subject, should be long and detailed, and can eventually be a starting point for other relevant articles on the website.

You can use a content pillar strategy on anything from Facebook posts to Instagram posts. Ideally using this method will help generate appealing material for your website, and corresponding social media platforms.

Technically, a content pillar happens to be a big piece of writing (generally referred to as long-form content) with numerous connections (links) to other blog entries (internal or external). The idea behind this method of producing content for the web is that it should boost the website’s authority.

The most successful bloggers, vloggers, and content creators use content pillars to batch out their production and topic ideas. Not only will you retain users but you will also boast the most comprehensive post on the subject matter.

Content pillars for Instagram?

As a business, you have enough to worry about without constant fear that your next post will not garner any attention on social media.

But thankfully, for all of us who are struggling in this department and need some help getting our act together on Instagram content creation–there are always seven pillars we can fall back upon!

The best thing about these strategies is how much variety you can generate when posting consistently throughout any given week or month. There are several various content pillars that some firms use and not others. For example, advice on self-care might work better for a beauty or lifestyle business than it would for a brick and mortar store. Using social media sites like Facebook, which allow customers to leave reviews about their interactions with firms nearby, a physical property agent may rely more heavily on testimonials from clients as an attraction method. Individualized dispute resolution services offered locally will be mainly based on the demands–and preferences!

The essential thing to keep in mind is that each pillar should represent an exciting material that your fans would be interested in. Content pillars look like basic infographic images. It does not have any fixed format or something. You can create your content pillars as you want.

There is no one-size-fits-all template for social media content pillars. You can always create your own by brainstorming ideas and then turning them into what makes sense in who you are targeting with marketing campaigns or communication efforts on behalf of an organization.

Instead of working hard to make sure that your posts are all perfectly aligned with the content pillars, it’s helpful sometimes just as an extra set of eyes and ears on what you’re putting out there. Someone else might need more input before posting anything new into their feed (which we know is inevitable).

You can use it in a column view with lists, or you could turn boards into calendars by adding the “power-up” option – this allows users to see due dates on their cards, so they know when something needs completing! The best part about using an organizer like this one? All of the information goes right where we want them: attached images allow us to access even when there’s no internet connection available.

In conclusion, leveling up your content efforts is easy with adding pillars to a social media strategy. Be strategic and use competitor research, audit what you have already created for online audiences, and consult on marketing personas that will help guide every piece of new or existing material released online.
